Many years ago we used to take Moff to this place http://www.dinosaurland.co.uk/ in Lyme Regis which has an excellent collection of fossils of all shapes and sizes and then go on a fossil hunt with the guy who owns it. the large fossils are almost impossible to collect, even if you could chip them out of the rock with a geological hammer they are so heavy you would need a block and tackle to lift them, but there are loads of small fossils just lying on the beach and some of them contain pyrite so they glitter like gold. The problem is that the tides there are a bit tricky and it is all too easy to get stranded and being rescued by the life boat is incredibly expensive. Unfortunately, he doesn't run the fossil hunts anymore, but I have had an email exchange with him in relation to the tides on the day we hope to visit with Sarah and he has got to be one of the most helpful people I have ever met.
So if you are down that way and you have a potential junior paleontologist with you, then make sure you go to Dinosaurland I do not think you will be disappointed.

Wow! That sounds great. D'you know, there is a place not very far from where I live where the dinosaur egg fossils were first found in India. I'd been there once and very interesting visit it was too! I'll try and send you the photos. Need to look for them.
Checking out right now. Nighty night.
