and I got stuck on a crowded train for over half an hour outside a station due to the train in front breaking down in the station, soooooooooooooooooooo we decided to go here for a walk.

past this large family.

Across bridges

through this medieval gate

Where we met this guy

Who has this tatooed on his backside

And walked up the river bank

as far as the old bridge

And past the cattle

as the sun started to set

and the colours were amazing,

but it started to get dark, so we went to the Welsh Harp next to the Abbey

and had a drink.

and then went for a nice kebab and chips.

  It is not exactly London it is Waltham Abbey, about 25 miles outside a little further out than where I live, but it is a stonesthrow from junction 26 on the M25.It is an old market town so the buildings are very picturesque.
  
  It is beautiful and tranquil in the abbey gardens, it is somewhere I always used to go when I was upset when i was a kid and it used to make me feel better. I think I have blogged about it once or twice before. The abbey itself is beautiful inside but it was shut tonight. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waltham_Abbey_%28abbey%29.

      Yes there are a lot of lovely places to visit round here though if you don't mind using the M25. Mr S and I usually stay in travel inns or travel lodges if we are travelling around England as they are quite cheap and often situated close to the main attractions in cities. The facilities are basic but they are clean and if you are out all day then all you need is a bed and an ensuite WC. There is either a Premier Inn, Travel Inn or a travel lodge can't remember which right in the Centre of London on the South bank near the London Eye and another one attached to the Anchor pub near the Globe theatre. It might be worth exploring the price and availability of them if you are thinking of "doing" London.

What a horrid commute at the end of the day but it seems like it was salvaged with the beautifully colorful walk, tasty food and excellent company. That's a nice pic of Ships!
