so bloody difficult for us to have a decent supply of clean drinking water piped into our homes. Especially as there seems to be an abundance of water falling down from the skies this year at at time when it might be nice to have a dry day and a little sunshine rather than be surrounded by all those horrible dark grey oppressive rainclouds and nasty tepid weather generally.
Last year the wet drought which was threatening our water supply finally finished with the flooding which resulted in problems with supplies across some parts of the UK due to pollution of the drinking water by the flood water. ![]()
Last week for several days there was a burst watermain near where we live with water pouring out all over the place. On Friday the water pressure was low (probably turned down to prevent too much wastage) this meant it was difficult to have a shower as the thermostat was up the creek due to there not being enough cold water coming in from the mains and difficulties with the washing machine (took about 3 hours to do one load).
The poor quality of our drinking water (sometimes comes out of the tap as cloudy as milk) means that we have to buy bottled water and so I really resent reading this.

Excuse me while I put my fingers in my ears and scream with frustration and annoyance until I am sick.

but
I don't see why we have to pay for water . . . after all it doesn't technically belong to anyone does it.

I'm sure drinking out of a puddle will do us more good than some of the stuff that comes out of the taps !!!
