Not sure how long since we last met but it was far too long. We meant to get together in the Summer, but the Summer (or what there was of it just raced past).
In any case it was great to see her again, although she had cunningly disguised herself by changing her hairstyle slightly and her glasses since we last met. It was a perfect day, blue skies and dreaming spires or towers in this case.
Lunch at the Eagle seems to be becoming a tradition now. ![]()
Then a wander round the colleges looking enjoying the sunny well manicured gardens and looking for Red Ivy clad buildings and Subs knew just where to find some.
Then we wandered down to the lazy hazy sunny river and ensconced ourselves on the sunny terrace of the Anchor pub (another or our traditions
) http://www.cambridgeanchor.co.uk/tour.shtml for a few hours to chat and drink and laugh at the punters.
But all too soon the lady moon began to peep at us over the roofs of the colleges
and the sun began to set and the sky began to turn peach and gold and finally firey red as we continued our bus journey back to the park and ride.
It is only about an hours drive back to Rancho Collapso, but we felt lazy so we stopped off for some of the oversized takeaway kebabs and chips from the excellent kebab shop in Waltham Abbey on the way home (£15 quid for the lot plus a free large bottle of Diet coke), so all we had to do was collapse in from of the the telly and enjoy the kebabs and sip wine and a few Kill Bills before bedtime.
