Yes, it was a country pub about 50 years ago, but London has come out to meet it.

'London came to meet it' I love your style
Even my little town is being met by Newport. The fields, lanes and small roads that separated us are now being built on and turned in to housing estates and industrial parks.
Also I have noticed an interesting trend around here, the old village are being bought done up a bit and turned in the Indian restaurants. Our Forge and Hammer is now a really posh Indian restaurant with a dress code.

I love Indian food so I would be happy to see that happen, but I despise dress codes.

X-
- 2009-06-27 @ 11:08:09
Yea dress codes..
on the bright side though, my being a goth confuses them and they want to say no... but technically they can't find anything wrong with it LOL!
Indian food is indeed lush yum!

I too always found black lace and leather very helpful in that way when I still had the figure to wear it.

Also black is a good colour to wear for eating curry as it doesn't show the stains.
Ahem!
X-
- 2009-06-27 @ 11:30:12
Don't tell anyone but actually it's the real reason goths wear black... it hides curry stains, and you can only tell when your clothes are very dirty when they smell LOL! Ideal for the lazy goth about town LOL!
XXX-
- 2009-06-27 @ 12:50:00
Eeep!!!
In agreement (with the curry stains) 'cept for the dirty or smelly bit.
No lazy smelly goths in this house.
My OCDs could not cope.

X-
- 2009-06-27 @ 13:57:06
Urm... no none in this house either... Ahem.... no definatly not... *cough*
I think it maybe why students and teenagers like the whole goth emo thing, it dosen't take much effort and hides stains well LOL!

Yeah, very muggy. We've had thunder, lightning and torrential rain and it's v humid.
Fan pointed straight at me, still.
Cute country pub xx-
- 2009-06-27 @ 01:02:53
You walked past it on the way back from the pub we had lunch in - remember you can see the Greenwich penisula from there (the dome) and also canary Wharf. There is a Victorian waterpump AJ photoed.

Woohoo! Must get pain relief sorted out first though. It's really getting me down. Apart from that I'm feeling good. Had a chat with ex earlier ... reassured him that I'm proud of wee D as he's been making better choices. *shoulder relax*

Tis gorgeous here and long may it last too. That pub looks perfect for an outside pint or two, and fish curry sounds delish x

Of the 3 it has the best view over the London basin, but no actual garden just a patio with a few flower tubs, but it is at the top of a hill in a pretty residential area with Victorian cottage style houses. All 3 pubs have outside seating thank God, The first has a garden at the back which is sometimes a bit too shady, and a lovely sunny decking at the front overlooking the forest, the last one (not featured in a piccy) has a lovely garden and is again in a pretty residential area lots of weather boarded cottages and is also right next to the Forest.
Mr S was eaten alive by midges last night though.

you should visit us here, no midges in ireland apparently! Sounds great but for the pesky things though x

You are joking. Ireland and Scotland (around the lakes and rivers in the evening) are two of the worst places for the little dears, after Scandinavia of course.

sounds lovely, and yes, it is humid...makes me feel as I'm carrying the world on my shoulders every time I go out...HLOL...sort of drives you into the ground doesn't it...
We'll see whether we get through next week with 92 degrees promised and 64 at night!! Hmmm...shouldn't moan...we've waiting two damned years for a proper summer..

For the most part I am enjoying the heat, I love sunshine. I am happy enough at the weekends even with the humidity as we do not have to rush about or travel on the underground, but being on a packed commuter train in this weatehr is very unpleasant.
Wish I was at the seaside today, but have home and garden mtc to do today, and cannot put it off any longer.

Can only just walk up my garden now...desperately needs a good prune...LOL...and I love the heat too but heavy weather does make it harder to walk...and commuter train travel must be really hard going in hot weather...hope you survive next week...

Very, very humid, I'm sitting next to an open window and it's still all icky, it feels like there's not enough oxygen in the air, maybe it will thunder soon?
The pub looks like just the perfect country pub, glad you had a lovely evening
