What am I?

Another mystery fungus, this time on our lawn and possibly unwelcome.

Un-nibbled by birds and beasts (squirrels), thereforeI am deeply suspicious. Is it an ink cap or worse a juvenile stink horn? I have decided not to take any risks and have disposed of it.

Am curious though, does anyone recognise the type?

I think it's an edible mushroom, just deformed, poor thing

But can't think of a name for it...and would NOT eat it

  Usually in our garden the squirrels devour anything at all edible.
  
  The stinkhorns are notorious for starting off looking a bit like an egg and then growing into the most gross and smelly things in a matter of hours, so I panicked and yoiked it out just in case.

Farthingale ? Petticoat? Crinoline ? Knickerbocker ?... that might fit the bill
